Homemade Grilled Chicken Shawarma Recipe | Food Celebrations<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />For the marination<br />Boneless chicken thighs 500g <br />Paprika powder 1 tsp<br />Turmeric 1/2 tsp<br />Coriander powder 1 tsp<br />Salt to taste<br />Cumin 1 tsp<br />Chilli flakes 1/2 tsp<br />Pepper 1 tsp<br />Garlic powder 1 tsp<br />Cinnamon powder 1/2 tsp<br />All spice/ garam masala 1/2 tsp<br />Chat masala 1/2 tsp (Optional)<br />Tomato sauce 1 tbsp<br />Juice of 1/2 a lemon<br />Oil 1 tbsp<br /><br />For the salad<br />Carrots, cabbage, onions, bell peppers, <br />cucumbers, tomatoes cut in julienne<br />Vinegar 1 tbsp<br />Oil 1 tbsp<br />Salt to taste<br />Pepper 1/2 tsp<br /><br />Sauce preparation<br />Mayonnaise 2 tbsp<br />Yogurt 2 tbsp<br />Pepper 1/2 tsp<br />Salt to taste<br />Garlic powder 1/2 tsp<br />Mustard paste 1 tbsp<br />Juice of 1/2 a lemon<br /><br />Dough Preparation<br />Whole wheat flour 1 cup<br />All-purpose flour 1 cup<br />Salt to taste<br />Yeast 1 tbsp<br />Sugar 1 tbsp<br />Oil 1 tbsp<br /><br />Method:<br />Marinate the chicken with all the spices and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes. Then grill the chicken. Prepare the salad and sauce by mixing all the ingredients. Prepare the dough and allow to rest for one hour. Then roll the dough and cook the pita bread on both sides on a pan. Assemble the shawarma by placing the salad on the pita bread. Add the mayo sauce, tomato sauce, chicken strips, jalapenos, olives and then roll. It is now ready to serve.<br />
